What is Farm Bureau
Nevada Farm Bureau is Nevada's largest agricultural organization. As a general farm organization, Nevada Farm Bureau is involved in the total scope of agriculturally-related issues and points of concern in our state.
Membership in the Nevada Farm Bureau is an annual membership based on the organization's fiscal year of November 1 through October 31. All benefits and services are offered to Farm Bureau member families who maintain a current membership.
Nevada Farm Bureau is an advocacy organization, promoting the interests of Nevada farm and ranch families by seeking to implement Farm Bureau policy positions. Organizational policy is created from the grassroots up, starting at the county Farm Bureau level and working its way to the state or national level. Implementation of Farm Bureau public policy is carried out through various forms, including regulatory and legislative bodies.
Nevada Farm Bureau Federation has 11 active county Farm Bureaus. Each county Farm Bureau is independent and governed by local farmer and rancher volunteers.
Nevada Farm Bureau also has programs that allow members to participate in Farm Bureau activities and events. Young Farmers & Ranchers and Women's Leadership are two programs that allow Nevada Farm Bureau members to participate in Farm Bureau events.
Nevada Farm Bureau also actively supports youth education programs. Programs like Ag in the Classroom visits schools throughout Nevada and teaches students the benefits and importance of Nevada Agriculture. To learn more about Nevada Ag in the Classroom visit their Web site.
