Lyon County

Lyon County is the number one ag producing county in Nevada. Lyon is home to garlic and onion farms along with beef cattle and alfalfa hay. Lyon County agriculture is very diverse with new and alternative crops entering the farming communities. According to the 2012 Census of Agriculture there are 462 farms covering 28.6 percent of the land. More than 50 percent of farms were small size farms between 1 to 49 acres.
