Washoe County

Washoe County is the second most populated county in Nevada behind Clark County. Washoe County is the home of Reno. One doesn’t have to travel far from downtown to find farming and ranching operations. The University of Nevada, Reno is also here where the College of Agriculture is at. According to the 2012 Census of Agriculture there were 479 farms in Washoe County, making up 442,697 acres. Approximately 69 percent of farms were small size farms between 1 to 49 acres.
